Cyclone Ita swells the creeks

Cyclone Ita brought with it very little destruction to the area despite it’s intensity, (category 4), but it did bring us over 400mm of rain. Having had not much of a wet season the rain was very welcome and helped to top up the region’s reserves including Lake Tinaroo which provides the Tablelands’ farmers with essential water for crop irrigation. The waterways are flowing in full force once again and Hunter’s Creek down at the Platypus Pond, pictured just here after the deluge, is raging through our tropical private paradise! A perfect time to book a stay at our luxury Tablelands accommodation and enjoy the best that nature can offer. Thankfully no damage and it’s business as usual at Sweetwater Lodge.
