Sweetwater’s Private Rainforest
With rainforest covering a large area of our 160 acres here at Sweetwater, there is a great opportunity to explore the wonders of our private paradise while staying in tropical luxury. Our beautiful rainforest walk is approximately a 1 hour return leisurely walk from the lodges. Amazing rainforest vines, buttress roots of trees, huge granite boulders, water cascading down the mountain and ancient forest ferns are just some of the delights to be seen in Sweetwater’s private rainforest accommodation. And of course be on the lookout for Paddymelons, the elusive Swamp Wallaby, the Emerald Fruit Dove, the Buff-breasted Paradise Kingfisher during summer months and the signature Ulyses butterfly as you take a stroll through this ancient forest adjoining the World Heritage Listed Wet Tropics.
